Director’s Message
Thank you for taking time to look at the Family Practice Undergraduate Website.
The Undergraduate Family Practice program at UBC organizes teaching for UBC students in all four years of their MD training. We have a large group of clinical instructors around the province and we offer the most dispersed teaching experiences in the MD program. We have instructors stretching from the Alberta boarder to the Alaska border and from Vancouver to Whitehorse. We are always keen to enlist new clinical teachers into our program and have opportunities for clinical teachers that range in time from 3 afternoons a year to a full month or more of clinical teaching. Each year approximately 40% of UBC graduates match to Family Medicine Residency programs across the country showing that our clinical preceptors are having a very strong and positive influence on our learners.
If you are interested in helping train and form the next generation of family physicians, and are interested in teaching please contact us at kathryn.hill@ubc.ca
While we are happy to have out of province students work with our clinical preceptors, the undergraduate dean’s office organizes these activities. Please contact them at the Visiting Students’ office.
